A 54-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly exposing himself to -- and then trying to kidnap -- a 16-year-old girl as she walked to school in Burbank.

The man, Hino Youkhana, was sitting his white Toyota Camry at 7:15 a.m. when, as the girl walked by, he allegedly exposed his genitals and ordered her into the car at Keystone Street and Magnolia Boulevard.

The girl walked away without a word, but the Youkhana allegedly gave chase, prompting her to run to John Burroughs High School, where she reported the incident and conveyed the car’s license plate information.

Burbank police located Youkhana and his car several blocks away and was positively identified by the girl.

Youkhana -- described by police as a transient -- was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and attempted kidnapping. He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to Burbank police.

Anyone who may have had prior contact with Youkhana or his car was encouraged by Burbank police to call (818) 238-3242. He was described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall, 120 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Youkhana is due in court on Friday.
