Burbank police collect 158 pounds of prescription drugs on Saturday
Burbank police collected 158 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs as part of a national drug drop off event on Saturday, officials reported.
The amoutn of drugs was enough to fill 10 large boxes, according to police Officer Joshua Kendrick.
Police also collected 585 pounds of prescription pills from residents in Glendale and foothill communities
The event is sponsored by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in an effort to prevent household drug abuse and theft of prescription pills.
