Students make strides on Walk to School Day

About five Burbank schools participated in the annual “Walk to School Day” event, which is held nationwide each October.
At Stevenson Elementary School, roughly 500 students walked to school Friday with parents and teachers. Once on campus, they were given prizes and snacks provided by Cartoon Network, Whole Foods and Clif Bar & Company.
At Bret Harte Elementary this coming week, students will sign a pledge to walk to school, recycle and discuss how to help the environment.
