Man left with ‘serious injuries’ in Burbank crash

Authorities are investigating a single-car accident that left a man seriously injured Saturday morning in Burbank.

Police say the man was driving northbound on Victory Place at approximately 4:25 a.m. when his vehicle crashed near Empire Avenue, striking a tree and a fire hydrant before coming to a stop.

The victim was found unresponsive and was transported to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center where he is undergoing surgery for “significant injuries,” said Burbank Police Sgt. Gerry Misquez.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
