Burbank police seek help in identifying would-be kidnapper

Police are looking for a male transient who they say attempted to drag a woman into an alley Monday in Burbank.

The abduction attempt occurred just before 1 p.m. in the 1700 block of West Alameda Avenue, said Burbank Police Lt. Eddie Ruiz.

The suspect was described as white, roughly 45 years old, about 220 pounds, with black and gray, dirty matted hair. He was wearing a large olive-green trench coat with an orange patch on the left elbow, Ruiz said.

Details on how the incident transpired were not immediately available.

No vehicle was seen.
