Man beaten, robbed of shoes while crossing street in Burbank

A man was robbed and beaten in Burbank on Sunday by three men who hopped out of a black car, police said.

At 6:15 p.m., the victim retrieved new tennis shoes from his car and was crossing the street when a speeding black car pulled up next to him at Angeleno Avenue and Fifth Street, said Burbank Police Lt. Eddie Ruiz.

Three men jumped out of the car, assaulted the victim, stole his shoes and then drove off, according to police reports.

The men were all described as being white, roughly 23 years old and having brown hair.

One man was described as 6 feet tall, 185 pounds and wearing black clothing. The second was 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 185 pounds and wearing black sunglasses. The third was 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 155 pounds with a receding hairline and wearing sunglasses, Ruiz said.

A woman – described as white, roughly 23 years old with blond hair – was also in the car.

The victim suffered a cut lip and several cuts on his face and head, Ruiz said. He also had abrasions on his back, arms and knees.
