$20.

That’s how much a 33-year-old Burbank man allegedly stole from his mother’s wallet Wednesday, which prompted a physical confrontation between the pair that left him with a police citation for suspected battery.

Haig Eskidjian allegedly took the cash from his 60-year-old mother’s wallet Wednesday afternoon, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn. When he returned home at around 9 p.m., his mother confronted him.

She reportedly told police her son has stolen money from her before, Ryburn said.

After yelling at each other, Eskidjian allegedly pushed his mother’s chest, followed her outside, and began choking her, Ryburn said.

Upon responding, officers noticed red marks on the her neck.

Eskidjian was cited on suspicion of battery and released pending a court date next month, Ryburn said.
