A blaze that tore through a carpet store in Burbank on Monday caused an estimated $1 million in damage, according to police.

The fire — first reported at about 10:18 a.m. in the 100 block of South Glenoaks Boulevard — was contained by 12:30 p.m. No civilian injuries were reported, although two firefighters were treated after the incident for heat exhaustion, officials said.

The firefighters have since been released, said Burbank Police Capt. Peter Hendrickson.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire. About 90 firefighters from Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena were involved in the response and prevented the blaze from spreading to other structures, Burbank Fire Chief Tom Lenahan said.

No one was in the building at the time of the incident, he added.
