Alleged drunk driver in Burbank hits seven parked cars

A 37-year-old Burbank motorist was arrested Monday after allegedly sideswiping seven parked cars while driving drunk, police said.

Just after noon, Anthony Abraham reportedly struck five parked cars while traveling on the 2200 block of North Buena Vista Street, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

Soon after, Abraham turned onto the 2200 block of Niagra Street, where he allegedly swiped two more parked cars, Ryburn said.

That’s when Abraham abandoned his truck and allegedly attempted to flee on foot, but a “crowd” of witnesses reportedly tackled him before police arrived.

Abraham sustained a “small cut” to the left side of his mouth, Ryburn said. No other injuries were reported.

He was cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and misdemeanor hit-and-run, and is due in court next month.
