Bob Hope Airport kicks off customer rewards program

Share

Bob Hope Airport on Friday launched its new customer loyalty program, which gives visitors rewards for purchases made at the airfield and will hopefully spark more spending that will benefit its coffers.

The partnership allows visitors to register their credit or debit cards with Georgia-based Thanks Again in order to receive airline miles or hotel points for purchases made at the airport’s parking lots, restaurants or gift shops.

These points are received in addition to any reward points normally earned by the card.

Bob Hope Airport joins more than 170 airports -- including JFK, Portland International, Seattle-Tacoma, Newark International, La Guardia, Dallas-Ft. Worth and Houston Intercontinental -- in the Thanks Again network.

“We hope the fact that Thanks Again is now present at over 170 other airports will bring added value to our guests not only here, but throughout their travel itinerary,” said Dan Feger, the airport’s executive director, in a statement.

Travelers can register for the program at www.thanksagain.com/bur.

Bob Hope Airport has an exclusive agreement with Thanks Again within the Los Angeles Basin for the next year.

When the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority approved the program earlier this year, Feger said that hopefully the rewards will encourage visitors to spend more money while they’re at the airport.

A major source of revenues for the airfield is on-site parking. It also receives a percentage of revenues generated by concessions at the airport.
