Glendale teen suspected of stealing jewelry in Burbank

A 19-year-old Glendale man was arrested Saturday after allegedly stealing several pieces of jewelry from his aunt, authorities said.

Just before 8 p.m., police approached the man, identified as Angel Lesigues, while he was in a parked car on the 100 block of East Orange Grove Avenue with two other men, said Burbank Police Lt. Eddie Ruiz.

The trio was hunched around the center console, looking at several pieces of gold jewelry — including rings, bracelets and chains — to make sure they were real, Ruiz said.

The officers’ investigation revealed that Lesigues allegedly stole the jewelry from his aunt, with whom he was staying in Glendale, Ruiz said.

Upon searching the man, police reportedly found suspected heroin, prescription pills and narcotic paraphernalia, Ruiz said.

Lesigues was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and possession of stolen property. He was being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
