A two-alarm blaze early Tuesday morning ripped through a nail salon in a Burbank strip mall, causing an estimated $200,000 worth of damage, authorities said.

The fire, which was knocked down in less than a half hour, caused smoke damage to 10 neighboring businesses on the 1500 block of North San Fernando Blvd., said Burbank Fire Capt. Peter Hendrickson.

Firefighters were dispatched to Tina’s Nail and Spa at 4:16 a.m., after Burbank police patrolling the area noticed the blaze, Hendrickson said.

When firefighters responded, the nail salon located in the middle of the strip mall was engulfed in flames, threatening neighboring businesses Lil Jewel’s children’s boutique and One Price Cleaners.

Emergency crews prevented the blaze from spreading horizontally, and knocked down the fire at 4:40 a.m., Hendrickson said.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation
