A 29-year-old Topanga woman reportedly bit a Burbank jailer’s arm and defecated in her jail cell Friday afternoon after police arrested her on suspicion of public intoxication, authorities said.

Officers responded to Cypress Avenue and Bel Aire Drive at 3:30 p.m. on reports of the woman – identified as Brittany Scott – screaming in the street, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

A witness told police Scott had thrown a rock at a passing car, which shattered the rear car window.

While police were booking Scott into jail for allegedly being drunk in public, she reportedly began kicking the officers, which prompted a civilian jailer to help officers hold her down.

Scott then reportedly bit the jailer’s arm, leaving a “severe,” bleeding bite mark, Ryburn said.
The jailer was transported to the hospital for treatment.

While in custody, Scott reportedly defecated in the middle of her jail cell, and then smeared her feces all over the cell, Ryburn said.

Scott was booked on suspicion of battery on a custodial officer and a police officer, and causing damage to a jail cell.

She is being held in lieu of $70,000 bail and is due in court this week, Ryburn said.
