Police investigate shooting that left man shot in foot

Police are investigating a shooting in which a man was wounded in the foot late Tuesday night in Burbank, police said.

The shooting occurred in a residence in the 900 block of Fairmount Road, but police discovered the injured man during a traffic stop shortly before midnight, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

The man, a passenger in the vehicle that was pulled over, was transported to a local hospital for treatment, Ryburn said. His injuries were not life-threatening, he added.

No further details were immediately available.

The investigation remained ongoing.
