Burbank public library celebrates 100 years

Burbank’s public library celebrated 100 years of service on Saturday with a how-to festival, in which city officials and community members demonstrated everything from how to French braid and knit, to how to find your credit score and use chopsticks.

More than 1,000 people attended the festival at the Burbank Central Library, said Library Services Director Sharon Cohen.

“It was such a wonderful event,” Cohen said, adding that in a digital age, libraries will continue to serve as places where community members can gather.

“I think we’re a critical part of the community … a place to come where you can just be, will never go out of style,” she said.
