Participants in next year’s Burbank on Parade will have a variety of options for decorating floats and other entries with the theme “Burbank — the City of the Future.”

The parade committee selected the parade theme this week and set April 26 as the date for the event, said Carey Briggs, the committee’s president.

“This year’s theme incorporates all the great aspects of our community with a view toward the future,” Briggs said. “Our friends in the entertainment industry, small businesses, Burbank Water and Power, Burbank Bob Hope Airport, the schools and service clubs are going to have fun depicting this theme while making this a great day for our community.”

Volunteers are needed to help organize the event, which will begin at 11 a.m. and travel east along Olive Avenue from Keystone Street to Lomita Street.

Entries featured will include high school and independent marching bands, floats, equestrian units, classic vehicles, celebrities and a grand marshal who has not yet been named.
