Two explosive devices found in Burbank home

A 50-year-old Burbank man was arrested Tuesday, four days after authorities reportedly discovered and destroyed two pipe bombs in his home.

Gregory George was arrested on suspicion of possession of two explosive devices Tuesday shortly after he was released from a mental health facility, said Burbank Police Sgt. Thor Merich.

Police responded to George’s home — located on the 1900 block of North Rose Street — on Friday afternoon after neighbors reported his “erratic behavior” to police, Merich said.

Two pipe bombs were located inside the home, where George reportedly lives with his mother.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad was called to the scene and safely detonated both devices.

George is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail and is due in court this week.

“The Burbank Police Department does not believe there are any outstanding explosive devices and there is no immediate danger to the public,” authorities said in a statement.
