FAA computer problem halts flights out of Bob Hope Airport

Flights out of Bob Hope Airport in Burbank were grounded for less than an hour Wednesday afternoon because the Federal Aviation Administration was having computer problems, according to airport officials.

At about 2:35 p.m., the airfield got word that the FAA issued a ground stop because of technical issues at its radar facility in Los Angeles, said airport spokesman Victor Gill.

Airplanes were still permitted to land, but three Southwest Airlines flights that were taxiing on the runway getting ready to take off had to head back to the gate, Gill said.-- Arin Mikailian,
