Letter: For quicker showers, toss the body wash
- Share via
OK, so we have to take five-minute showers. We have to have low-flow shower heads. Well, now is the time for people to stop using body washes or have companies change their formulas. It is very difficult and time-consuming to try to rinse off these oily, skin-coating formulas. There are so many post-shower lotions that soften the skin. I threw in the towel on body washes when we had the last drought and have not used them since. I hope many people are speeding up their shower time by using bath gel or rinseable cake soap. Using and knowing about alternative products can help all of us get squeaky clean and save water too.
The water agencies are presenting us all with new ideas to save water, and not just on drought-friendly landscapes. How we take care of our hygiene, do our laundry and dishwashing will all be changing. Let’s hope we get some much-needed rain before things get too crazy. A serious drought is challenging us to try new things. After all, where there is no vision, the people perish!
