Mayor Jess Talamantes: It’s the Party of the Century!

Share

Welcome to the celebration of a century. It is with great pride that I write to you during this momentous year for our beloved city. I’ve spent most of my life in Burbank and served proudly in our Fire Department for more than 30 years. And now, I am truly honored to be your mayor in this centennial year.

During Burbank’s 100th anniversary celebration, the traditions of our city’s past, present and future are being showcased. The Burbank Centennial mission is for all people who live, work and play in Burbank to celebrate through events and activities that create civic pride and foster and highlight community partnerships.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, the city is proud to host the Party of the Century on July 8. With a historic air parade, celebrity guests and a fireworks extravaganza, it is sure to be an unforgettable evening for the entire family in Beautiful Downtown Burbank. There will be additional opportunities to celebrate throughout the year, including the Let’s Move Burbank! event at Johnny Carson Park on Oct. 1.

We hope to provide the community with a variety of quality, family-friendly opportunities to reminisce about great memories as we honor the past, celebrate the present and anticipate the future, while embracing all that the next 100 years has in store.

I hope everyone enjoys the Party of the Century and participates in upcoming centennial events. We are all so fortunate to call Burbank home, and on behalf of the Burbank City Council, I want to thank you for being part of this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

Looking forward,

Mayor Jess Talamantes
