The prices at Walmart are low for a reason

There is no doubt that many people will want to shop at a Burbank Walmart because of its low prices. Sure, there are traffic issues, and impacts on other businesses.

But have you ever inquired as to why their prices are so low?

If Walmart were to set up a section containing only products made in the United States, it would probably make up less than 10% of the store.

Visit an existing Walmart and count the number of items for sale that are made in China. Then, realize that the people who are making those products are making less than $1 an hour! This is evident in so many of the big-box discount stores, including Kmart.

So the new Walmart in Burbank will create about 300 jobs, according to their officials. But how many jobs are lost in the United States because of this?

At the rate it is going in this country, the “job creators” that the Republicans are boasting about will turn the United States into a wholly owned subsidiary of the People’s Republic of China.

We need a big-box store named “Made in the U.S.A.”
