Problems bring negative publicity

There seems to be an ethnicity problem in the police dept. Two Latinos, one black and one Armenian alleged harassment and discrimination based on ethnicity and gender, among other claims. Former police Lt. Omar Rodriguez was a 22-year veteran who was terminated in April 2010 because of charges. There are other law suits, one by officer Cindy Guillen and another by detective Steve Karagiosian.

Problems will arise from time to time in the department, but they elicit a lot of negative publicity and should be handled in a manner of restraint.
