Hooray! The pool finally is open!

Hooray for Burbank! The new Verdugo swimming pool opened on Saturday, and it’s so beautiful! Yes, it took a long time to get the project moving, and yes, it should have been done sooner. But it’s finished now, and we should all be very proud.

Congratulations to everyone who worked on it, from the architects to the contractors and construction workers, as well as all the people at Burbank Park and Rec and City Hall who labored to get it designed and built. I’ve lived many places in my life, and often, I was stuck in towns where the citizens didn’t think it was necessary to make such a terrific investment. The towns always suffered from their short-sightedness. So we’re lucky here.

If you haven’t been down to take a peek yet, be sure to go. Take your kids swimming. The whole thing made me so happy that I live in Burbank.
