Burbank recycle scavengers shouldn’t be reported

Kudos to Molly Shore (“Upset with all the trash talk,” Aug. 31), I agree with her about how petty and cruel it is to report someone going through the blue recycle bin while it is at the curb waiting for city truck to pick up its contents.

My husband and I purposely put good recyclables on the street curb next to the blue bin the night before pick-up so someone who is out early can take them. If items are not taken by late morning, then we place them in the bin but that has never happened. In this economy people need to make a living somehow. At least they are not burglarizing homes, or worse. I too say shame on you for reporting these individuals!
