Despite some big plays from the Burroughs High football team offense, it wasn’t enough to offset a grinding ground game from visiting Calabasas High, spear-headed by sophomore Chris Brooks. The Coyotes running back scored five touchdowns and was part of a pulverizing backfield, aided by a sizable offensive line, which racked up 444 rushing yards to lead the visitors to a 53-31 nonleague victory in Burroughs’ season opener at Memorial Field.
