GIRLS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 2, Golden Valley 0: The Indians earned a nonleague shutout Thursday at Memorial Field.

Lauryn Bailey and Olivia Aguilar scored one goal apiece for Burroughs (1-1).

Westridge 9, Providence 0: The Pioneers slipped to 0-2 in the Prep League with the loss Thursday on the road.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Burroughs 87, Waverly 44: The Indians rolled to a win Thursday in the Burroughs Tournament.

The Indians (3-0) will play in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Friday against Sun Valley.

Burroughs 106, Valley Academy 32: The Indians (2-0) had little trouble earning the win in the opening round of the Burroughs Tournament on Wednesday.

Fairfax 82, Providence 73: Despite 37 points from A’Jahni Levias, the Pioneers dropped their first game of the season Wednesday in the Rose City Roubdball Classic at Maranatha High.

Levias was seven of 10 from three-point range for Providence (6-1). Bryce Whitaker added 10 points and eight assists, Andrew Dabbaghian had 10 points and Collin Ferrell had eight points and six rebounds.

Bakersfield 70, Burbank 47: The Bulldogs (1-4) suffered a loss Wednesday in their own Burbank Tournament.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Providence 48, Dorsey 39: The Pioneers advanced to the semifinals of their own Providence Pioneer Shootout with the win Thursday.

Sydney Sayoc paced Providence (4-3) with 17 points, to go along with seven steals. Ava Tibbs added eight points and 13 rebounds and Audrey Sayoc chipped in with eight points, five rebounds, seven steals and four assists.

Burbank 57, San Marino 23: Erika Montoya had 10 points in leading the Bulldogs to a win Thursday in the San Marino Tornament.

Karen Casillas and Adelina Bandarian chipped in with eight points apiece for Burbank (4-3).

Pasadena Marshall 42, Burbank 29: Brianna Castro had 15 points for the Bulldogs in a loss Wednesday in the San Marino Tournament.

Karen Casillas added seven points for Burbank.

Burroughs 50, Palmdale Knight 37: Kayla Wrobel and Faith Boulanger paced the Indians to a win Wednesday in the Brentwood Winter Invitational.

Wrobel had 16 points and 13 rebounds and Boulanger had 19 points, six rebounds, four steals and three blocks. Sydney Martin chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds for Burroughs (4-2).

Providence 1, Providence 1: The Pioneers played to a nonleague draw Thursday on the road.

Newbury Park 1, Burroughs 0: The Indians (1-1) fell in their own Ralph Brant Tournament Wednesday at Memorial Field.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 19, Burroughs 8: The Indians dropped the nonleague contest Thursday at home.
