BOYS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 5, Muir 1: Elias Galaviz scored three goals for the Indians in the Pacific League win Tuesday at Memorial Field.

Manny Gonzalez scored twice, adding to his career record for goals and now has 59 for the all-time Indians mark. Gonzalez also has 25 goals on the season, breaking the single-single record of Luis Felix set in 2009.

Burroughs (11-7-3, 9-2-2 for 29 points) is three points behind league-leading Pasadena (32 points) and one ahead of Crescenta Valley (28 points) with one match to play. The Indians end the regular season at 3:30 p.m. Thursday with a home contest against rival Burbank.

Arcadia 4, Burbank 2: The host Bulldogs (2-13, 1-12 in league) dropped the Pacific League match Tuesday.

Pasadena Poly 3, Providence 0: The Pioneers fell in the Prep League contest Tuesday on the road.

Providence falls to 11-3-3, 3-4 in league.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Burroughs vs. Muir (Muir forfeit): The Indians (11-7-3, 9-2-2 in league) earned the win after the Mustangs forfeited Tuesday’s Pacific League match.

Arcadia 7, Burbank 0: The Bulldogs slipped to 2-8-3 in the Pacific League with the loss Tuesday on the road.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Burbank 5, Glendale 3: No. 5 Burbank (3-4 in league) won Tuesday against No. 6 Glendale in a consolation match of the Pacific League Tournament at Arcadia High.

The Bulldogs (11-8) received two goals from Yana Stepanyan and Burbank goalkeeper Jenny Stepanyan recorded 16 saves. Other Burbank goals came from Sera Shabazian, Julie Kim and Sophia Brice.

The Bulldogs (11-8) will face Hoover at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Arcadia High.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Providence 72, Chadwick 43: The Pioneers finished off their second straight undefeated Prep League campaign with the win Tuesday at home.

Providence (21-6, 8-0 in league), ranked No. 1 in CIF Southern Section Division III-AA, already secured its second straight league championship last week.

Burbank 83, Arcadia 76: The Bulldogs fought their way back Tuesday to win the Pacific League game at home.

Burbank (8-17, 4-9 in league) trailed by 14 points at halftime.

Vartan Avetisyan had 30 points for the Bulldogs.

Burroughs 49, Muir 43: The Indians earned the Pacific League victory Tuesday on the road.

Burroughs improved to 19-8, 7-6 in league.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Arcadia 54, Burbank 31: Tabitha Cruz had 10 points for Burbank (10-17, 3-10 in league) in the Pacific League loss Tuesday on the road.

Burroughs 65, Muir 45: Sophie Hawkins had 21 points and four steals to pace the Indians to a Pacific League win Tuesday at home.

Hana Savola had 11 rebounds and six points and Sydney Martin with 10 rebounds and six points for Burroughs (21-6, 11-2 in league).

Burroughs in is second place in league, one game behind Pasadena (12-1 in league) with one game to go. The Indians play against rival Burbank at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at home to close out the regular season.

Providence, 48 Chadwick 37: Sydney Sayoc scored 24 points for the Pioneers on Tuesday in a Prep League win at home.

Audrey Sayoc added 11 points, nine rebounds, six steals and four assists, Sophie Nazarian had eight points and Ava Tibbs contributed nine rebounds and five points for Providence (16-9, 6-4 in league).
