Sports Roundup: Burbank boys’ tennis doubles up Glendale

BOYS’ TENNIS

Burbank 12, Glendale 6: The Bulldogs improved to 1-1 in Pacific League play with the victory Tuesday afternoon at home.

Burbank received a sweep in singles from Kevin Orellana, who won his three sets by 6-0 scores.

Burroughs 10, Pasadena 8: Despite not having a No. 3 singles and having to forfeit three sets, the Indians were able to earn the Pacific League win Tuesday at home.

Kendric Marcy swept in singles by 6-0 scores for Burroughs (1-2, 1-1 in league) and the doubles team of Peter Vu and John Hoang also swept, 6-3, 6-2, 6-1.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Burbank d. Alhambra, 25-21, 25-23, 25-16: The Bulldogs kicked off their season Tuesday afternoon with a nonleague victory at home.

Christian Park had 13 digs, Aram Krakirian had seven kills, Jonathan Tapan had 24 assists and Andrew Hank had six blocks for Burbank.

Burroughs d. Orange Lutheran, 25-20, 25-12, 26-24: Playing against a CIF Southern Section Division I school, the Indians earned a nonleague sweep Tuesday evening in their season opener.

Burroughs, ranked No. 4 in the Division II preseason poll, received 15 kills from Andrew Delmada. Teammate Ryan Van Loo added 31 assists, nine digs and three blocks.

BASEBALL

Burroughs 8, West Ranch 0: Pitcher Kyle Nicol went six innings, scattering three hits, striking our four and walking three in leading the visiting Indians to a nonleague win Tuesday in the Easton Tournament.

Justin Palafox went two for four with two runs batted in, Jason Whaley went two for three with a pair of doubles and an RBI and Riley Hooper had two RBI for Burroughs (2-0).

Dos Pueblos 4, Burbank 0: The Bulldogs slipped to 0-2 with the loss Tuesday on the road in the Easton Tournament.
