Sports roundup: Burbank track and field sweeps Glendale

BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD
Burbank 104, Glendale 32: Martin Swan and Noah Powell both won three individual events Thursday in a Pacific League home win for the Bulldogs (3-0 in league).
While Swan took the 110-meter hurdles (14.77 seconds), the 100 (10.83) and the 300 hurdles (39.62), Powell was first in the high jump (5 feet 10), the long jump (10-9 1/2) and the triple jump (43-11).
GIRLS’ TRACK AND FIELD
Burbank 87, Glendale 44: Haleigh Cusumano and Juliana LaFrance were triple winners for the Bulldogs (3-0 in league) in their Pacific League victory Thursday at home.
Cusumano was first in the 400 meters (59.43 seconds), the 200 (26.14) and the high jump (4 feet 2) and LaFrance took the 110 hurdles (19.07), the long jump (15-9 1/2) and the triple jump (30-9 1/2).
BASEBALL
Providence 7, Milken Community 0: Pitcher Sean Holt tossed a one-hit shutout Thursday to pace the Pioneers to a Liberty League victory on the road.
The win completed a sweep for Providence (5-2, 2-0 in league) over Milken.
Holt gave up a hit to the first batter of the game and hit the second batter. He then retired the next 21 batters, with 10 strikeouts. Holt was also two for three with a double and three runs batted in.
Thomas Keller was three for four and Stephen Knezevich and Matthew Meza each had two hits.
“The guys did exactly what they were supposed to do in the first round of league play,” Pioneers Coach Steve Knez said. “We hit well, pitched extremely well and played good defense. We are getting better with every game.”
