BOYS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 1, Glendale 0: A goal on a penalty kick in the 61st minute by Esteban Alcantar proved to be the match-winner for the Indians on Friday at Memorial Field in Pacific League play.

The win moves Burroughs (8-2-5, 4-0-2 in league) into first place in league.

Goalkeeper Alfredo Tejeda recorded his fourth shutout in league.

Burbank 2, Muir 2: The Bulldogs couldn’t maintain an early lead in the Pacific League stalemate Friday at Burbank.

Burbank (4-3-1, 3-2-1 in league) took a 2-0 lead in the first half on two goals from Andy Cardenas. The Mustangs tallied the tying goal with about a minute remaining.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Burbank 4, Muir 0: The Bulldogs improved to 3-8, 3-3 in the Pacific League with the win Friday on the road.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Burbank 59, Muir 43: The Bulldogs completed a season sweep of the Mustangs with a Pacific League win Friday at home.

Burbank improved to 12-7, 4-2 in league.

Burroughs 46, Glendale 26: Faith Boulanger had 24 points, including four three-pointers, in leading the host Indians to a Pacific League victory Friday.

Burroughs (14-5, 4-2 in league) saw Boulanger add six rebounds and Dyani Del Castillo chipped in with eight rebounds and five points.

Burbank 73, Muir 61: The Bulldogs came through with the Pacific League victory Friday at home.

Burbank improved to 12-6, 4-2 in league.
