Sports Roundup: Tirityan paces Burbank girls’ basketball to overtime league win

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Burbank 60, Pasadena 57 (overtime): Osanna Tirityan had 26 points in leading host Burbank to the Pacific League win Tuesday.

Sofia Aslanya added 12 points and Jayla Flowers chipped in with 10 for Burbank (13-7, 5-2 in league).

Arcadia 34, Burroughs 29: The Indians couldn’t topple the league-leading Apaches on Tuesday in a Pacific League game on the road.

Faith Boulanger had 10 points, Kayla Wrobel had seven points and six rebounds and Dyani Del Castillo added 11 rebounds for Burroughs (14-6, 4-3 in league).

Providence 56, Westridge 24: Jyah LoVett had 16 points 12 rebounds, five steals and four assists for the Pioneers in a Prep League home win Tuesday.

Ariel Gordillo had 15 points and four steals, Ava Yood-Howard added 11 points and five steals and Ava Tibbs contributed nine points for Providence (11-8, 3-1 in league).

Providence 45, South Torrance 42: Jyah LoVett tallied 25 points and 11 rebounds to pace the host Pioneers to a nonleague win Saturday in the Providence Pioneer Showcase.

Ariel Gordillo added 16 points for Providence.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Arcadia 3, Burroughs 2: The Indians suffered their first Pacific League loss Tuesday against the host Apaches, who are the defending league champion.

Lily Gonzalez and Trinity Vournas had goals for Burroughs (7-3-2, 4-1-2 in league) and Lauryn Bailey had two assists.

Pasadena 2, Burbank 0: The Bulldogs fell Tuesday at home in the Pacific League contest.

Burbank is 3-9, 3-4 in league.

Flintridge Prep 13, Providence 0: The Pioneers (4-6, 0-4 in league) fell Saturday in a Prep League match.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Pasadena 3, Burbank 1: The Bulldogs slipped to 4-4-1, 3-3-1 in the Pacific League with the loss Tuesday on the road.

Burroughs 2, Arcadia 1: The Indians remained in first place in the Pacific League with the win Tuesday at Memorial Field.

Burroughs (9-2-5, 5-0-2 in league), trailed, 1-0, before getting consecutive goals from Manny Gonzalez and David Gerlach. Goalkeeper Jacob Cardenas made five saves for the Indians.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Burroughs 71, Arcadia 61: The Indians (8-11, 2-5 in league) earned a Pacific League victory Tuesday at home.

Pasadena 81, Burbank 56: Burbank came up short in the Pacific League game Tuesday on the road.

Miles Dagostin had 22 points and and Erik Harutyunyan added 18 for Burbank (12-7, 4-3 in league).
