Sports Roundup: Gonzalez has hat trick to lead first-place Burroughs boys’ soccer


Burroughs 5, Hoover 1: Manny Gonzalez had a hat trick in leading the first-place Indians to a Pacific League win Friday at Memorial Field.


Carlos Rosales tallied two goals for Burroughs (12-3-3, 8-0-1 in league), which sits atop the league standings.

Crescenta Valley 4, Burbank 1: The Bulldogs suffered a Pacific League defeat Friday at home.


Allen Arsenian scored for Burbank (4-7-1, 3-6-1 in league) on an assist from Andy Cardenas.


Burroughs 64, Hoover 23: Sydney Martin had 12 points to pace the Indians to a Pacific League win Friday at home.

Faith Boulanger added 10 points and nine rebounds and Jhazmin Pitts had six rebounds and four assists for Burroughs (18-6, 7-3 in league).


Crescenta Valley 37, Burbank 30: The Bulldogs slipped to 13-10, 5-5 in the Pacific League with the loss Friday at home.

Sophia Aslanyan had 15 points and Osanna Tirityan contributed 10 for the Bulldogs.

Providence 57, Pasadena Poly 44: Jyah LoVett had 23 points, nine rebounds and five steals in the Pioneers’ Prep League win Thursday at home.

Audrey Sayoc added 12 points and six steals, Ariel Gordillo had 10 points and Haley Laca chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds for Providence (14-9, 6-2 in league).


Burroughs 78, Hoover 59: The Indians earned the Pacific League victory Friday at home.

Burroughs improved to 11-12, 4-6 in league.

Providence 74, Pasadena Poly 35: The Pioneers rolled to a Prep League victory Thursday at home.


Providence is 18-5, 5-0 in league.


Burroughs 2, Hoover 1: Despite outshooting the Tornadoes, 22-2, the Indians won a close Pacific League match Friday on the road.

Lauryn Bailey and Lily Gonzalez had one goal each for Burroughs (11-3-2, 8-1-1 in league).

Crescenta Valley 8, Burbank 0: The Bulldogs (3-12, 3-7 in league) dropped the Pacific League match Friday at home.

Westridge 8, Providence 0: The Pioneers fell Wednesday in a Prep League match at Occidental College.
