Burbank Vikings: Five teams from the Burbank Vikings Youth Tackle Football program were victorious Saturday in week-three games.

Leading the way was he Bantam Black (4-0) squad, which remained undefeated with a 34-6 win against Thousand Oaks White. Also winning was Junior Gold (2-2) against the Santa Clarita Chiefs, 30-6, Midget Black (2-2) against the Santa Clarita Redskins, 20-14, Bantam White (4-0) against Canyon Gold, 36-12, and the Pee-Wees (2-1) against Calabasas, 22-14.

In losing efforts, Senior Black (2-1) lost to Canyon Black, 30-6, Senior Green (1-3) was beaten by Ventura White, 22-16, Junior Green (1-3) lost to Thousand Oaks, 22-6, Midget Green (1-3) fell to Santa Clarita Warriors,14-6, and Bantam Green (1-3) lost to Valley Black, 26-6.

Burroughs in Staub/Barnes Invitational: The Indians had some fine results in the lower-division races at Saturday’s event at Crescenta Valley Park.

In the girls’ junior varsity race, Sarah Rodriguez (38th; 25 minutes 2 seconds), Dina Figueroa (51st; 25:56), Marie Yokers (54th; 26:11) and Annie Morgan (65th; 28:01) finished for Burroughs.

Finishers in the boys’ junior varsity race were Kamal Chahal (second; 16:55), Kyle Freudenberg (fourth; 17:20), Jonathan Wijesooriya (sixth; 17:24), Williams Stone (15th; 18:09), Andrew Carrillo (19th; 18:16), Jerrod Plummer (33rd; 18:44), Jadson Jadraque (42nd; 19:11), Brandon Mayorga (52nd; 19:31), Christian Switzer (64th; 19:67), Joseph Olympia (72nd; 20:11), Adnan Chowdhury (84th; 21:26), Jorge Alpizar (85th; 21:32), Steven Ochoa (88th; 21:39) and Alex Alvarez (91st; 22:02). The Indians won the race.

In the sophomore girls’ race, Vanessa Amaya (16th; 23:15), Samantha Fajardo (21st; 23:35), Kayla Avila (28th; 24:02), Gigi Chamberlain (29th; 24:14), Savannah Rock (54th; 26:28), Cynthia Vallejo (66th; 28:39), Julia Comete (69th; 29:26) and Denise Wijesooriya (73rd; 30:55) finished.

Finishers in the boys’ sophomore race included Grant Crater (sixth; 17:50), Carlos Ortega (15th; 18:37), Jacob Palilla (20th; 18:51), Eric Casillas (29th; 19:34), Carlos Quinteros (39th; 20:04), Jerry Truong (40th; 20:11), Max Holt (42nd; 20:34), Alexis Rivera (45th; 20:43), Sean Vasquez (47th; 20:45), Connor Holt (56th; 21:17), Paul Scherer (78th; 22:47) and Jason Castillo (81st; 23:17).

Finishers in the girls’ freshman race were Miranda Garcia (27th; 24:24), Brittany Trinidad (31st; 25:04), Dayanna Yanez (38th; 26:17), Jessica Heifetz (44th; 26:55) and Brianna Maya (49th; 27:39).

Finishers in the boys’ freshman race included Luis Celaya (seventh; 18:41), Raymond Garcia (23rd; 19:39), Jonathan Weber (28th; 20:04), Francis Hilao (35th; 20:34), Dalton Burroughs (48th; 21:19), Nick Garduno (50th; 21:28), Matthew Woodward (54th; 21:46), Mark Allsman (60th; 22:15), Garrett Durbin (64th; 22:27), Robert Martinez (73rd; 23:07), Thomas Switzer (86th; 25:26) and Adrian Garay (91st; 27:51).
