Burbank in Camarillo Relays: The Bulldogs had some impressive results in the event Saturday at Camarillo High.

The Burbank boys, paced by Sergio Fraire, Normando Cornejo, Arsen Mkrtchyan, Isaiah Amos won the varsity distance medley relay in 10 minutes 47 seconds. A team of Mkrtchyan, Bernie Corea, Fraire and Amos placed second in varsity boys’ 4x1,600-meter relay in 18:31.

In the girls’ varsity 4x1,600 relay, Christina Shamirian, Griselda Pereyra, Victoria Sanchez and Arlette Movsesyan ran to a first-place finish in 23:11. In the girls’ varsity 4x800 relay, Shamirian, CJ Chua, Allison Suchy and Movsesyan finished second in 10:26.

Burbank vs. Muir: The Bulldogs rolled to sweeps Thursday in a Pacific League meet at Burbank.

While the girls’ squad earned a 123-11 win, the boys were also victorious, 91-40.

On the girls’ side, the Bulldogs won every event except for the shot put.

Hannah Barlow won four events, claiming the 100 hurdles (18.7 seconds), the 300 hurdles (53.02), the triple jump (31 feet 91/2) and the long jump (14-93/4).

Double winners included Christina Shamirian in the 1,600 (6:12) and 800 (2:40), Hannah Park in the pole vault (8-6) and discus (84-2) and Julia Newton in the 100 (12.3) and 200 (26.45). Other winners included Kayla Martil in the 400 (1:04.59), Victoria Sanchez in the 3,200 (14:03) and Emily Frazier in the high jump.

Newton, Kristine Annasian, Keren Zepeda and Felicia Tomitsa teamed up to take the 4x100 relay (51.36) and Annasian, Zepeda, Tomitsa and Clarissa Guerrero won the 4x400 (4:44).

There were only single-event winners on the boys’ side. Those winners were Chris Huezo in the 1600 (4:37), Teddy Arlington in the 110 hurdles (17.69), Sergio Fraire in the 800 (2:05), Dennis Palacio in the 300 hurdles (42.63), Isaiah Amos in the 3,200 (9:40), Chris Mirando in the pole vault (10-6), Jae Yim in the triple jump (37-101/2), Wang Su Lee in the shot put (40-71/2) and Andy Hurtado in the discus (122-51/2).

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Burbank in San Gabriel Tournament: The Bulldogs picked up a pair of wins and finished 13th out of 20 teams Saturday at San Gabriel High.

In the Silver Division, Burbank lost to Alhambra, 25-22, 25-20. Elijah Cowart had 11 kills and three blocks, Paolo Fabregar had five blocks and Armen Sargsyan had 22 assists for the Bulldogs (3-10).

Burbank came back to defeat West Covina, 25-20, 25-18. John DeMircift tallied 10 kills and four blocks, Sargsyan had 19 assists and John You had four digs.

Burbank also beat Kennedy, 21-25, 25-23, 15-11. You had eight kills, Jason Gomez had six blocks and Sargsyan had 22 assists.
