All-Area boys' basketball first team

Robert Cartwright, Junior, Guard, Flintridge Prep

Led Rebels to Prep League title and trip to CIF Southern Section Division V-AA semifinals and appearance in CIF State Division V playoffs. League's player of the year averaged 18.9 points, 4.6 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 3.8 steals per contest.

Vance Jackson, Freshman, Forward, La Salle

Averaged 19.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per game for playoff-bound Lancers. Expected to be a main scoring threat again next season for improving Lancers.

Jeremy Major, Senior, Guard, Maranatha

Pepperdine University-bound standout averaged 17.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and two blocks per contest. Helped Minutemen place second in Olympic League and earned a spot on the all-league first team.

Andre Spight, Senior, Guard, Pasadena

Named Pacific League co-Player of the Year after helping Bulldogs win ninth straight league championship. Averaged 18.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.

Lawrence White, Senior, Guard, Burroughs

Earned a spot on All-Pacific League first team. Averaged 18.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, three assists and two blocks a game in leading Indians to playoffs.


Shawn Zargarian, Crescenta Valley

Piloted Falcons to a record of 23-9, 11-3 in the Pacific League for second place. Led Crescenta Valley to second straight appearance in CIF Southern Section Division I-A semifinals and CIF State Division I playoffs despite his team returning just one starter.
