Pasadena Poly boys’ golf takes second in Prep League

BOYS’ GOLF

Webb 202, Pasadena Poly 216, Buckley 223: The Panthers took second in a three-team shoot-off Monday to determine the Prep League champion. Willy Moffly carded a three-over-par 39 for Pasadena Poly at Industry Hills’ Eisenhower Course. The Panthers finished second in league after winning the title last season. Webb finished first this year.

Pasadena High in Pacific League prelims: Three Bulldogs competed in the event Monday at Pasadena High.

n singles action, 11th-seeded Charbel El Khouri opened with a 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 first-round win against sixth-seeded Anthony Hou of Arcadia. El Khouri then fell in the second round to third-seeded Kevin Orellana of Burroughs. He lost the first set, 6-0, before trailing, 3-0, in the second set before having to retire because of leg cramps.

In doubles, 15th-seeded Kyle Park and Preston Araki of Pasadena fell, 6-1, 6-0, to second-seeded Dustin Lieu and Erik Gao of Arcadia in the first round.
