Burbank in Pacific League Tournament: Despite leading as late as the two-minute mark in the third quarter, Burbank fell in the third-place game of the Pacific League Tournament, 12-9, to Pasadena on Thursday afternoon in the battle of the Bulldogs.

Dante Nazarian led fourth-seeded Burbank with four goals and three steals, while Rob Mheryan contributed two goals and one steal, Andres Pulgarin chipped in two steals and two assists and Arman Torosian tallied two steals.

Burbank (10-11, 3-5) scored the game’s first three goals, but only led 3-2 after one quarter. Pasadena (17-7, 5-3), the No. 3 seed, knotted the game at 5 at halftime and then took an 8-7 lead at the close of the third quarter.

“We played good for two quarters, but, against Pasadena, you need to play an entire game and we didn’t do that,” Burbank Coach Zeb Jenkins said.

Burbank goalie Derek Baer finished with eight saves.

Matthew Esser led Pasadena with four goals, three steals and an assist, while Chance Woods added three goals, four steals and one assist and Ian Iverson Villanueva netted three goals.
