Roundup: Burroughs girls’ basketball keeps grasp on first place

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Burroughs 61, Muir 25: The Indians were able to cruise to a Pacific League victory Tuesday at home against the visiting Mustangs.

The win keeps Burroughs (14-6, 6-0) — ranked No. 7 in CIF Southern Section Division I-A — in first place in the Pacific League.

The Indians received 12 points from Sidney Ortega, nine from Justine Barraza and eight points and seven rebounds from Jakarra Waddell.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 1, Muir 0: The Indians survived on the road Tuesday to gain a win and remain in first place in the Pacific League.

The winning goal for the Indians (10-2-3, 5-0-1) was scored in the 60th minute by Milosh Petko on a set-piece assist from Brandon Gerlach.

The Indians are ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division III.

Burroughs 9, Muir 0: The Indians had an easy time earning the Pacific League victory Tuesday at Memorial Field.

Burroughs (5-6-1, 4-0-1) is in second place in league.
