Roundup: Win keeps Burroughs boys’ soccer in first

BOYS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 4, Hoover 0: The Indians remained in first place in the Pacific League with a victory Tuesday at Memorial Field.

The win improved Burroughs — ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division III — to 11-2-4, 7-0-1 in league.

The Indians received goals from Milosh Petko, Ashot Veisyan and Andres Aguilar. The other score was an own goal.

Pasadena 3, Burbank 1: The Bulldogs dropped to 1-7 in Pacific League play with the loss Tuesday at home.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 2, Hoover 0: The Indians were able to come away with the Pacific League victory Tuesday on the road.

It was the sixth time in seven league matches in which Burroughs (7-6-1, 6-0-1) and goalkeeper Taylor Bailey have been able to earn a shutout.

Danielle Tilton scored a goal and assisted on a second for the Indians.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Burbank 59, Pasadena 15: Yazzy Sa’Dullah had 24 points, five steals and four assists Tuesday to pace Burbank to a Pacific League victory on the road.

Christina Mkrtchyan added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Burbank (13-9, 5-3).

Burroughs 64, Hoover 33: The Indians had little trouble earning the Pacific League win Tuesday on the road.

The win keeps Burroughs (17-6, 8-0) in first place in league.

Brooke Radcliff led the Indians with 12 points to go along with six rebounds. Teammate Jakarra Waddell added nine points, seven rebounds and four steals, Jordan Meltzer had eight points and Delaney Nicol chipped in nine points and four steals.

Holy Martyrs 42, Providence 41: The Pioneers were outscored, 15-5, in the fourth quarter Tuesday in a Liberty League loss on the road.

Katia Dabbaghian had 16 points and Fabi Jimenez added 10 for Providence (14-5, 2-1).
