The space shuttle Endeavor flew over many areas in the Los Angeles area, including landmarks like the Hollywood sign and the Rose Bowl, but many have complained that much of the San Fernando Valley was snubbed. Patch
Authorities say that two people were detained in Canoga Park after police found a suspected pipe bomb in their vehicle. The suspected bomb was found in the center console of the SUV during a traffic stop. Daily News
Rep. Brad Sherman had a 13-point lead over fellow Democratic Rep. Howard Berman in the race for the San Fernando Valley congressional district seat, according to a recent poll. L.A. Times
Students at Milliken Charter Middle School in Sherman Oaks are working to raise money and awareness for cancer care. The students hope to raise $2,000 in October for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Daily News
