Prizes from second day of Hidden Cash scavenger hunt found in Burbank

The first clue, posted by the Hidden Cash Twitter account around 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, was a location that “sounds like where a robin or eagle might keep their money.”

A few hours and a second clue later, the area was narrowed down to the Burbank area -- the site of three cash drops, according to the anonymous donor’s Twitter account.

Those were some of the clues that led Los Angeles area residents to find cash prizes: Tatiana Ramirez, 14, a Pacoima resident who found $210 and Chris Treichel, who found $135, according to the Hidden Cash Twitter account.

The prizes were part of the anonymous donor’s five-day scavenger hunt in Los Angeles, which came to Los Angeles after its origin in the Bay Area, according to KTLA.

The mystery benefactor, who has described himself as a wealthy 35-to-45-year-old real estate developer, made his first drop at the historical memorial fountain in Griffith Park late Wednesday night, which drew swarms with flashlights to the area within an hour of the announcement, KTLA reported.

One tweeted that he found the envelope filled with about $250, according to the news station.

The donor told the Los Angeles Times he had recently closed a real estate deal that left him with a six-figure profit, so he decided to “give back” and do something fun with the money.

“I love to give back,” he told the Times. “I would love to have more join me to give back more.”
