A 52-year-old Burbank man was arrested Monday after turning the gas on in his home and threatening to kill himself after an argument with his girlfriend, police said.

Ronald Paluska was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and making criminal threats against his 43-year-old girlfriend during the argument, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

He reportedly threw an object at his girlfriend, who had a small cut on her stomach, Ryburn said.

Then he threatened to commit suicide and turned on the gas in the home, located in the 2300 block of Catalina Street, Ryburn said. The woman subsequently ran to the nearby fire station for help.

The man, who according to police records is an electrician, was treated for gas inhalation and later booked into jail. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
