‘Keeping Your Brain Healthy for Life’

The Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce presents a networking luncheon with Dr. Michael Brant-Zawadzki, executive director of the Hoag Neurosciences Institute. He will talk about “Keeping Your Brain Healthy for Life.” The networking event starts at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch and the presentation at noon. The event is at Five Crowns Restaurant, 3801 E. The Exchange Club of Newport Harbor presents its third annual Armed Forces Day program, featuring “The Field of Honor,” a display of 1,776 American flags in Castaways Park, off Dover Drive in Newport Beach. At noon Saturday, Lt. Col. Robert J. Friend, 92, one of the surviving Tuskegee Airmen, will give the keynote speech at a dedication ceremony. Cancer Society

Kathryn Smith, a Costa Mesa resident, along with Betty and David Comegys — and the San Diego Padres and American Cancer Society acting as a third party — are organizing an event at Sunday’s Angels-Padres game at Petco Park in San Diego to benefit the ACS. The group has reserved the top floor of the Western Metal Supply Co. building near the left-field foul pole at Petco.
