Concordia’s School of Theology Christ College will use the grant over a four-year period to establish a high school youth theology institute.

“As the Great Commission university, this grant affords Concordia University Irvine the opportunity to continue its mission for generations to come,” Concordia’s President Kurt Krueger said in a statement. “We’re honored to be recognized by Lilly Endowment Inc.”

Lilly Endowment Inc., based in Indianapolis, is dedicated to cultivating theologically-minded youth and future leaders in church and society.

Concordia is the only university in Orange County to be acknowledged for receiving the grant.
