The massive impromptu car meet that was rumored might be held at the Empire Center in Burbank Tuesday night was held in Palmdale.

Called the “Krispy Kreme Tuesdays” car meet — not associated with the doughnut company — the event drew more than 3,000 people and roughly 1,000 cars at the Empire Center in August 2013.

Police had to close the parking lot to cars, shut down surrounding streets due to traffic congestion and warned motorists to avoid the area.

This past June, another car meet was slated, but private security closed part of the Empire Center parking lot to deter people from attending the gathering, which caused traffic delays in the area.

Eventually, the meet was moved the Krispy Kreme in the City of Industry.
