Rep. Schiff cruises to victory in primary

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) sailed past his opponents in the primary election Tuesday night, according to the L.A. County Registrar.

Schiff received 81,806 votes, or 70.5%, compared to 21,741 votes for Lenore Solis and 12,492 for Sal Genovese.

Schiff will now face Solis in the general election in November.

10:43 a.m.: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that Schiff will not face opposition in the general election because he received more than 50% of the votes. He will face the second-place finisher, Lenore Solis.

Schiff is in his eighth term in the U.S. House of Representatives, and currently serves as the ranking member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and a member of the Benghazi Select Committee.
