Costa Mesa police arrested a homeless man Wednesday morning after multiple reports of a man flashing people, authorities said.

Officers responded to 3005 Fillmore Way around 8:25 a.m. and found the man in an alley, Costa Mesa police Sgt. Dan Miles said.

Authorities identified him as Daniel Hernandez, 25, a transient who lives in Garden Grove and Costa Mesa.

Miles said police received calls that led them to believe that Hernandez had exposed himself to multiple people.

Officers arrested Hernandez on suspicion of indecent exposure and failure to register as a sex offender, Miles said.

Hernandez was booked into Orange County Jail with bail set at $20,000, according to Sheriff’s Department records.

A man with the same name and birth date was convicted in March of two 2013 misdemeanor charges involving touching an intimate part of another person and resisting arrest. He pleaded not guilty to both charges.

He was subsequently arrested in May and June on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender, court records show.
