Miyoun Kim, 38, of Newport Beach is accused of six counts of pimping and six counts of pandering. If convicted, she could face a maximum sentence of 12 years and eight months in state prison. She is free on $250,000 bail.

Heung Soon Kim, 57, of Los Angeles is charged with two counts of human trafficking, 13 counts of pimping and 13 counts of pandering. If convicted, his maximum sentence would be 40 years and eight months in state prison. He is free on $750,000 bail.

Heung Kim is accused of providing Park with money to operate the brothels, authorities said.

Investigators allege that Park and Miyoun Kim signed a lease for an apartment in the 2000 block of Alton Parkway in Irvine in December 2013 and turned it into a brothel. Both are accused of inducing women to perform sex acts for money there until Aug. 21, 2014, when undercover officers from the Irvine Police Department arrested the three defendants.

Heung Kim and Miyoun Kim are scheduled for pre-trial hearings Feb. 11.
