Biz News: Clinic to provide veterans with free services Wednesday
The Vein Clinic & Rejuvecenter in Costa Mesa will provide free services to active and former military personnel for Veterans Day on Wednesday.
The free services are spa treatments and bilateral ultrasound evaluations of veins and the circulatory system.
Also, a portion of the center’s profits in November will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit that supports those injured in combat.

Wienerschnitzel to offer free chili dogs to vets
Wienerschnitzel locations will commemorate Veterans Day on Wednesday by giving members of the military a free chili dog and a small Pepsi.
The Irvine-based hot dog chain is making the offer to people in uniform or with valid military identification or proof of service.

Building Industry Association gala set for Newport Beach

Kia Motors America posts record October sales
Irvine-based Kia Motors America announced its best-ever October sales of 50,044 vehicles, a 12% increase over the same period last year.
October gave Kia its sixth consecutive monthly sales record, led by the Optima, with 14,381 cars sold, and the Soul, with 12,246, the company said.
“Kia is a challenger brand, and our ability to outpace the industry without the benefit of a truck in our lineup speaks volumes about consumers discovering the new Kia,” Michael Sprague, chief operating officer, said in a statement.

Social media in business to be topic of seminar in Newport
The Risk Management Association’s Orange County chapter will team with White Nelson Diehl Evans LLP and First Bank to present the seminar “Preparing Your Business for Social Media” on Nov. 19 at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach.
The event will feature a luncheon presentation by social-media expert Celina Guerrero and a workshop on using LinkedIn for business development.
For those who register by Friday, the cost for the lunch presentation and the workshop is $65 each and $99 for both. After that, the lunch and the workshop will cost $75 each and $119 for both.

Rutan & Tucker and Smiley Wang-Ekvall, both in Costa Mesa, were recognized as top law firms by U.S. News & World Report.
Rutan & Tucker achieved a metropolitan Tier 1 rating in Orange County in a variety of fields, including commercial, corporate law, banking and finance and intellectual-property litigation.

Vitra Eyewear to open store at South Coast Plaza
Las Vegas-based Vitra Eyewear plans to open a luxury boutique on Nov. 20 at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.
The store, located near the Apple Store, will feature a “transparent” lab where customers can see opticians create prescription lenses.
“Nowhere else will customers find such a comprehensive selection of artisan, rare and high-fashion eyewear in both sun and ophthalmic designs for both sexes, all showcased within a store that exemplifies pure luxury,” the company said in a news release.
