Machado visits Newport water station

Pro surfer Rob Machado came to Newport Beach this week to visit a water bottle refilling station.

The station is at The Wedge and was installed about two months ago. It was fully funded by Newport Beach-based Arbor Real Estate in the name of Machado’s foundation. Arbor has also funded another filling station, installed about two weeks ago, at 68th Street and one at the Newport Aquatic Center that was installed last year.

No Beach Plastics, a nonprofit, helped facilitate The Wedge filling station’s installation with the city.

“The Arbor Real Estate team is proud to support our community and to keep our beaches clean and healthy by partnering with the Rob Machado Foundation,” Chris Brigandi, Arbor Real Estate founder, said in a statement. “This water bottle filling station at The Wedge is the fourth station we’ve installed in Newport Beach over the past year. We’re excited to see people using and appreciating the stations and helping us to keep our beaches and community clean.”
